There’s something special about a summer wedding in the Welsh countryside, and Joe & Jess’s wedding at Ty Newydd Country Hotel was a perfect example. With sunshine, stunning scenery and a fantastic group of family and friends, their day was filled with laughter, love and unforgettable moments from beginning to end.

The day started with the excitement of the morning preparations as Jess got ready with her bridesmaids, while Joe spent the morning with his groomsmen making the final preparations before the ceremony. There was a real sense of anticipation as everyone gathered to celebrate the start of their next chapter together.

Jess looked absolutely beautiful as she made her way down the aisle, and Joe’s smile said everything. Those first moments when a couple see each other are always some of my favourites to photograph, capturing genuine emotions that will be treasured for years to come.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks outside in the warm summer sunshine while taking in the beautiful countryside surrounding Ty Newydd Country Hotel. The relaxed atmosphere gave everyone the chance to catch up, laugh together and enjoy the wonderful setting before the celebrations continued.

One of the reasons I love photographing weddings at Ty Newydd is the variety of locations available for portraits. Without ever leaving the venue, we were able to make the most of the gardens, mature trees and rolling countryside to create a collection of natural, relaxed photographs. Joe and Jess were so easy to photograph, enjoying every moment together while I simply guided them into the best light and let the real moments unfold.

As the afternoon continued, family and friends gathered for the wedding breakfast before enjoying a series of heartfelt speeches. There were plenty of laughs, a few emotional moments and some wonderful stories that perfectly reflected Joe and Jess’s journey together.

As the sun began to drop lower across the countryside, we headed back outside for a few golden hour portraits. The soft evening light created the perfect backdrop, allowing us to capture some of my favourite images of the day. These quiet moments together often become some of the most treasured memories for couples, offering a chance to step away from the celebrations for just a few minutes and simply enjoy being newly married.

The evening celebrations were every bit as memorable as the rest of the day. The dance floor quickly filled with family and friends, creating a brilliant atmosphere that carried on well into the night.

It was an absolute pleasure to be part of Joe and Jess’s wedding day. Thank you both for allowing me to capture such an important occasion. I wish you both every happiness for the future and many wonderful adventures together.
